The Stamp Analyzer measures stamp perforations and the centering of the vignette within the perforations or the edge of the stamp in case of imperforates. The stamp perforations are measured independently for each side of the stamp, using two diverse algorithms in order to provide the most accurate result. The perforations are displayed as number of perforations per 2cms. The centering of the stamp vignette is computed from the measured margin widths on each side. The margin width is defined as the shortest distance between the stamp vignette boundary and the perforations or the stamp edge. The centering information is displayed as normalized margin widths and an overall centering Index or grade (Avg, Good, Fine, VF, XF)
