XML Viewer formats remotely and locally XML documents for letting you visualize their content with ease.
Local file access is enabled by checking the "Allow access to file URLs" box on the Google Chrome extensions page
The security permissions are required for formatting local files.
XML files transfered with the "text/html" mime-type are not formatted. Excessively large files can cause long rendering delays.
Note: Local ".xml" files in Chrome 5.0.375.86 and 5.0.375.99 are not recognized. The workaround is to rename the local file to a ".txt" extension.
Dragging a file into Chrome does not activate this extension (Chromium issue 30962). The current workaround is to use File > Open File or manually enter the url.
